John F. Kennedy Announces Fundraising Success. Demonstrates Strong Support for his Campaign for State Senate.
February 8, 2014
John F. Kennedy, conservative Republican candidate for State Senate District 18, today announced he has raised over $50,000, without any loans or debt from over 75 contributors in a little over two months. He also reports having over $44,000 cash on hand as of the January 31st reporting deadline—demonstrating early strength and momentum in his campaign.
Incumbent State Senator Cecil Staton announced Tuesday that he will not seek re-election.
Senate District 18 includes all of Crawford, Monroe, Peach and Upson Counties and part of Bibb and Houston Counties.
Said Kennedy, “Serving in public office requires a large commitment of time and energy, and I want to thank Cecil Staton for his service and wish him the best in the future.”
“I have been overwhelmed by the support I have received in the two months since officially announcing my campaign for State Senate. We are picking up support from every corner of this district every day, and the momentum continues to grow. It is an honor to have the support of so many people willing to support and invest in my campaign.”
“I am running because the people of Middle Georgia need an honest, hardworking leader in the State Senate who will provide the authentic, enthusiastic, conservative leadership they deserve. I am committed to working hard for our community, being there for you and ensuring that our interests and values are being protected.”
“In the Senate, I will be a champion for the people of this district. Regardless of the issue, I will be there for you, and I won’t back down. You have my word. I ask for your prayers, your support and your vote,” continued Kennedy.
